boots?

Well I wear several. Early season I have a pair of wolverine scent-lok uninsulated and when it starts getting cold I have a pair of Rocky cornstalkers with suppresent. I really like the Rockys but the wolverines are not the most comfortable boot I've ever owned, just very stiff, haven't broken in very well.

Danner Kestrels or Pronghorns. Also love the Danner Santiam...

I bought a pair of Wolverine in 400gr thinsulate for a little earlier in the year and I like them a lot. A lot more comfortable than I thought they would be. I wish they made a pair in 1000gr though for late season hunting. At least I haven't seen a pair with that much in them. The most I've seen was 800. But certainly let me know if I just missed the 1,000's somewhere.

thanks for the imput but i forgot to add that i wear a size 15 ive heard or seen the boots your talking about but most dont come in size 15

I'm dissapointed in the outdoor boot industry. As far as I'm concerned they have went the same route as the muzzle loaders, bows, tennis shoes etc.. they re-invent the wheel. Rocky quit making the reasonably priced stalker boots I used for years. I am currently using Danner Frontier model, uninsulated, 400 gram, 1000 gram to cover the seasons.
They seem ok for the money.

I will agree, they can be insulated and they still work for when I trap.

Lacrosse 18" Burlys! Mean green.

Thank goodness they redesigned their ankle lock system. The first pair I owned I had to have help getting them off after each hunt.

Danner Pronghorn for almost everything (goats, mule deer, grouse, etc).

The only exception is for bowhunting I will only wear a rubber boot. My preference is the Alpha Burly Series by LaCrosse.

Danner Pronghorn 400's and 1000's for a lot of my hunting. Will throw LaCrosse Alpha burly's out there when it's really wet.

If you're cheap like me and want to go another route for bowhunting, go with Northerners. You can find them in farm stores. We're not quite as cold down here as you guys, but even well below freezing weather I've never had too much trouble with cold feet with these boots. If you do decide on 'em, make sure you get the insulated ones.

Rocky Bobcats for Bow/Pheasant hunting (600 grm)
Rocky Sport Utility for Shotgun (1000 grm)

I love my Rockys!!

I have three pair of Muck boots with which I have been generally happy except for a couple of times on long hikes I wore the backs of my heels raw. I have two pairs of Filson leather boots I use for pheasant hunting and have been tempted to use them on the long hauls. I know rubber seems to be preferred but aren't the Danner's leather?
