Most any bow will work. For day shooting a higher poundage, 50-60, may be wanted as shots tend to be longer. For night shooting a bow of 30-40 lbs. should be fine. I use a retriever reel on a 60# recurve. It's nice to not have to draw the entire way back at close fish and the bow is light compared to some compounds. I have not bought any of the packages but most of them should be adequate. The guys at Sully's bowfishing can be very helpful. Good luck.
