Bow shot Turkey Question?

DOR

Some of you guys that have shot multiple turkeys with the bow or even if you have shot just one:

What percent of your shots are passing through the bird? What is your setup?

I am going to be trying for my first bird with the Razortec this next week and want to know what you guys are getting for results.

Please list your setup and results. IE....hoyt razortec@65lbs, beeman 400's, wasp jakhammer 1 3/4.

LIMB? Muddy? get us started here.

mathews legacy 72 lbs.
A/C/C 3-60
rocket 100 grn hammerhead 4 blade.

I am not concerned with passthrough. I want to blow a big hole in em and I don't care whether the arrow stays in them or not. An expandable is only going to do damage on the way in then it will just back out if it remains in the bird. It hasn't mattered either way with the birds I have killed over the years with a bow.

Your set up looks fine, I have killed several birds with jak hammers as well as deer and I love em. The hammer heads offered one more blade and 2 inch cutting diameter. Plus archery experts are running them for $9.99 per three which was too good of deal to pass up.

DOR, I actually wanted to get away from pass-throughs. I was always losing arrows. I was shooting my Outback at 70 lbs, with Gold Tips topped with 100gr Spitfires( 100% pass through). They blew a hole comparable to a deer slug, dropped the bird where it stood, but always resulted in a lost arrow. I dropped my draw weight to 58 lbs, changed to 2216's topped with Muzzy 100's and found that combo to dump all the energy in the bird, not passing through, and providing a clean kill. Both birds this year were recovered 3 feet or less from where they were hit and my quiver was full on the trip back to the truck.

Mathews switchback at about 70 or so lbs.
Goldtip arrows with a rocket 4 blade hammerhead 2 inch cutting diameter.
Still blowing through the birds more times than not.
My problem is finding the stupid things once the timber gets green. I hunt river bottoms and I can only see the bird go a little ways before loosing sight of it. Then finding them is tough. I have chased them right off the bat and had them fly away as well. So I don't know what to do. Have been thinking about spending the money and going for head shots. I guess I have not mastered the spot to put an arrow in a turkey to put it out of commision. Deer - no problem. Turkeys are killing me. Maybe somebody has advise for me.
