BOWFISHING in the off season

Hi all,

Just wanted to comment on a nice site. I am a newbie here and its great to finally find a website created for Iowa Deerhunting. Thanks to everyone that puts in the long hours to keep the site maintained. I will enjoy reading the posts and maybe adding my 2 cents a time or two.

I dont mean to come here and solicit, but I thought some of you may be interested to know there is site / club dedicated to bowfishing here in IA www.bowfishiowa.com Its a great sport for archers in the off season, and a great sport to get kids involved in.

I thought I would throw this out to anyone that was interested. I know the seasons have now changed and deer hunting is just getting under way. You might want to take the time to look into an exciting, fast paced, rapidly growing sport.

Most people here have there minds in the woods now but I love to shoot big carp with a bow any chance I get. Not much on eating them though. Welcome to the site. One of the pics in my photo gallery was a successful day bowfishing this summer

I was afraid I would be considered soliciting by promoting the website.
I just wanted to make sure all you archers knew it was there.

I too have my priorities setting in a tree right now. I tagged a small basket racked 9 pt (18" spread) last weekend. It was my 10 year olds first time in a tree. He was setting in the tree next to me. I would have normally passed the shot, but didnt want to let my son down, so I let the arrow go. Connected with the 2213 at 28 yards. I think my boy now knows the fever. His eyes were as big as a pop can!!
