bowhunting open areas

the area where i bowhunt is mainly crp, pastures, and crop fields. there are small timbers dispersed through the land. when i have hunted stand in the timbers i have had minimal success or have seen almost no deer. however when i leave the timber to the fields they are all over. what are some of the best strategies and set-ups for deer that seemingly move from crp to pastures. i am thinking ground blinds.

Ground blinds and decoys work very well, that is how I harvested mine this past fall. You can also try and figure out their paths from the timber to the fields and try to intercept along a fenceline, or with your blind. I think I am going to try early muzzleloader this fall, there were lots of nice bucks within muzzleloader range, but just outside bow range.
Good Luck!

thanks for the help, problem i am having is my timber set-ups haven't been real productive. i am not sure that the deer spend much time in the timbers or cross through the timber. it seems as though they go from crp straight to the crop field. i'll sit in the timber hours and see nothing and then come out onmy way to the car and see them in the field eating. the open field is pretty broad to try for a set-up and hope you see something within 30 yards.

Maybe Tombuck will respond here, if not shoot him a PM. He has this bow hunting fenceline, open field stuff down.
