I am considering switching from PSE (Quantum) to Bowtech.

I would like to here from the Bowtech guys. What did you shoot before? Why did you switch? What do you like and dislike about them?

bowtech is a great bow in my opinion. i considered buying one but got a much better deal on my Hoyt. my favorite was the mighty mite. short and very fast bow that is both forgiving and light. everything a bowhunter needs. if you're shooting a quantum now i'm guessing you're looking at a patriot, pro 38, or Extreme VFT?? all 3 of them are great bows also. one thing i don't like about some of the bowtechs is that some of them are extremely top heavy but to counter that they have a place where you can put a stabilizer on the inside of the risers. most bowtechs also come with special string silencers and limb savers also, if the store you're buying at doesn't have them included, go to another store. of course, i havnt been in the sales business for a few months so some things may have changed. anyway, those are my opinions, great bows. good luck.

this is my 1st real year bowhunting and bought a bowtech last may. of course i like it fine or i wouldn't have bought it. the things i like best about it is; It's quiet, resonably fast, short axle to axle, and has a very forgiving brace height (8"). with me being pretty much a rookie i thought that was important. my best friend just got an extreme VFT and it is very fast. most important thing i think though is getting a quality bow that feels right to you. at least thats what several pro shops told me and i thought it was good advice..........good luck

I have been a Hoyt buyer for a good number of years...this year I found a deal to go to be true to pass up. A 2002 (New from Bowtech/Gunrunr) Mighty Mite. Thought I would give it a try. I have nothing but good things to say about this bow. A little shorter than I am accustomed to but it was just plain fun to shoot. The Bowtech bows are here to stay......the buck I harvested this year was with a BowTech.

Well I went and shot a Patriot duelly, pro 40 single cam, Tomkat. I liked the way the Pro 40 shot the best. The patriot was extremely top heavy and needed some work to balance. I am considering ordering a Pro 40 duelly.

The price tag is a little hard to swallow especially when I think back and remember my first compound was $80.00 brand new!

I need a cheaper hobby

I've also got a bowtech mighty mite and love it, fast light and dead on. I use to shoot a bear super xlr, which was a nice bow but weighed twice as much and was 11" longer than the bowtech.

I've had my BT Patriot SC for about 6 months. This bow felt good in my hand the first time I shot it - smooth, no vibration, and as quiet a bow as I've shot. I removed the vibrablocks and hush kits from the strings, and installed sims leeches and limbsavers.

I previously had a Q2, which I never got comfortable with

. IMO, it was not near the quality of bow the Pat SC is. With my Q2, I put WC string & cables on as soon as I bought it...after a year I was on my 3rd buss cable,as the servings were trashed on the first two. Not my idea of a quality bow when there are burrs on the cam/module

I still have a FX, which I enjoy shooting and occasionaly turkey hunt with, however my BT is in a different class

Opinions vary. If you think they are fast, shoot them thru a chrono b4 you buy them. They are just another bow line that can't compare to the Hoyts and Mathews of the world, yet they cost just as much. To each their own. Good luck.
