boycott pizza hut?

this could spark some good discussion....

i'm sure everyone has heard of the pizza hut delivery drive in des moines that had a gun shoved in his face as a robbery attempt. the driver pulled his own pistol, and put a few holes in the would be crook. pizza hut has a policy that its drivers cannot carry firearms, and the guy was fired. given 2 months pay (minimum wage, nothing for his income from tips) and the hut will pay for some counseling, that the driver requested.

there is talk of a boycott of pizza hut for their treatment of the driver.

i can understand the hut's policy, but i don't agree with the way they treated the driver. their policy very well could have cost this guy his life.

There's none near me anymore anyhow. Last time I ate at one was in Albia and shortly thereafter I blew VMAN's toilet off the tile- THA4 style.

It does sound unfair and is unfortunate for the driver. Do you have an article or write-up about it or is it just here-say?
 
the artical was in the Des Moines register a few days back, some state legislator from Waukee / clive ia, Brad Zaun i beleive.i agree with the rest of you, proably saved his life, a truer shot , the robber would be gone, buried by now. proably some crank head head id guess sampling to much of his own product,to bad. they need to make this guy a mgr somewhere, yea uncle ted would love this,maybe we should post this on his website? he would surly respond!!

I heard it on CNN yesterday morning. The guy seemed really bumbed to loose his minimum wage job but I guess its better than loosing his life for a few measly bucks/forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif
 
the artical stated that Pizza Hut offered him councling, 2 monthes worth of pay and that was it.im wondering what kind of contract pizza hut makes these people sign? they are at high risk, late at night, what would of happened if the driver was shot and killed? & wasnt allowed to protect himself, i can see law suits flying all over the place now. Pizza hut proably wouldnt even cover a life insurance policy from what ive been reading. wheres uncle ted ? i never ate there stuff anyways after around 15 yrs ago , one of their establishments got caught putting ALPO ON THE PIZZA, THE FDA took pictures of the cans if my resources were right.
 
This morning before work i was listening to the radio and heard "Pizza Hut Manager Busted" He was selling high-grade marijuana out of his office. They busted him at Pizza Hut with 600 dollars, scales, and 2 pounds. I can hear it now....Ya i need a ham and pineapple pizza with extra cheese and an 8th of weed on the side. Ok that will be 29.99 and we will be there in 45 minutes.
