i recently bought a rifled slug barrel, and i'm finally leaning away from the old rifled "pumpkin ball" slugs. these k.o.'s claim to work well from both smooth and rifled barrels. anybody use them? what type of results did you get from a rifled barrel?

I'm still chunkin punkins. They flew good out of a smoothe bore barrel, but didnt seem to have the knock down as others have.

I've used just regulat Brenake's before and they fly straighter than anything. But you're right they don't have the knock down power I'm looking for. Can't beat a 3" Winchester Magnum, those things tear holes like you wouldn't believe.

I don't believe you will want to use anything besides a sabot in a rifled barrel. Other slugs will leave lead debris in the rifling and you will forfeit accuracy if ever wanting to shoot sabots.

Teeroy,
I bought a new slug barrel last year and used the KO's.
I did not have any problem and it dropped my deer like a rock at 60 yards. (Don't know how far you intend to shoot).

They will have some buildup like mentioned and for that reason may start shooting sabots only thru them. I think there was a thread on this last year also and Ghost had some input also.
