I have voiced my opinion to quite a few of you who have passed up pretty nice bucks in order to let the grow. My question after passing several myself is how many of these deer are ever going to reach 150"? I don't mean whether or not they will be shot during rifle season. I mean how many have the potential to reach that kind of size? I've seen more very big-bodied deer this year sporting about 120" horns than I think any season previously. I came VERY close to shooting at a big-bodied eight point two nights ago that would have scored around 120". Should I begin to lower my expectations? I don't mind not harvesting a buck in order to "let 'em grow", but what if a buck isn't going to get any bigger? We have okay genetics here in SE Kansas -- they are better in other parts of the state I believe. I guess my question is, those of us holding out for a bigger buck, are these deer I'm passing on going to get any bigger anyway? I'm referring to the big-bodied ones...
