Trophy hunters,What are your thoughts on mature bucks and buck lure?I know certain lures will work from time to time,but overall do you have much success on mature bucks with lures?, and if so is there a certain lure that you believe has a better edge on mature bucks than others?My expierences with lures are mixed.I have had small bucks come into lure,but never a nice one.The nicer bucks I have arrowed I didn't use any lures.I think it's almost better to use nothing as far as lure go on mature bucks,being some of the smaller ones that did come in spooked.What's your opinion?
 
Don't use it. Reason - have heard too many reports of it spooking deer. Mainly does that have a nice buck behind them. Spook the doe, buck follows suit and you are SOL.
 
I have to disagree with deadeye on this one...I have used scents in the past with good results but special caution needs to be taken in every situation. Best thing I can tell you is to get a scent usage manual from John Collins of James Vally Scents. This brochure has in depth tips and usage instructions for his scents....(I think they are the best kind to use) Call them and see if they will send you a copy of the instructions James Valley Scents
