Got a call about 9:30 this morning from a buddy who'd just scored on a big bird down in southern Iowa. Had three toms come in and took the biggest one in full strut. He said he knew it was his biggest bird to date just from carrying it out and when he got the digital scale out, it went 28 lb, 2 oz. 11"+ beard and 1" spurs. Winter was obviously good to the birds this year! Can't wait for 4th season. I'll post pics once he sends me some.
