Dblmainbeam, I can surely relate to your frustration. I hunt a small farm with about 45 acres of prime whitetail habitat that sits in the middle of an excellent hunting area near my home.
I gained access by offering to help keep the farm in shape for a widowed elderly lady 12 years ago. We always had a great relationship & I spent countless hours there throughout the years mowing the pastures, trimming trees, shoveling snow, fixing stuff around the house & buy her gifts for her birthday & christmas & much much more just for the privledge to hunt there. Three years ago she got a man friend who invited a friend of his to hunt there two years ago. At first it wasn't too bad, but last year he brought his son along & this year his son' wife.
I never seen too much of them in archery season which is my only passion in life but this year they're all three there every day! There are only a couple of good spots for mornings & afternoons which my son & I can cover quite well. There honing in on my spots putting stands within 40 yards or less. I feel like all my hard work was in vane, kind of insults me in a way, I just think I deserve to have the hunting rights, at least for archey season. Cant't say much since I don't own it but it sure is a slap in the face.
It's going to be a tuff year I'm afraid, only seen one deer since Monday, a small buck. Probably never will see any of the better bucks in the area like in the past when the woods is crawling with hunters? Good luck in your hunting endeavors!!!
