buying camo

You may be wondering why i am asking this. But this is only my second year bow hunting and i really would like to know where all of you get your camo for a decent price? I went a head and bought a pair of camo pants out at bass pro, i thought they were a decent price and quality. My jeans from walmart last year ended up ripping the first week of bow season, so those didn't work the best. I have bought some wolverince hunting boots for $60 so I should be ok on those. But i am still with out a coat. Cabelas seems to have a good selection but "i" think they are a little expensive. Maybe i just need to get used to the prices since it seems like nothing is cheap

Look at Cabelas microtex line. Wears like carhart and is reasonably priced. It's a poly material also, holds its pattern after many washings and drys very fast. Best bang for the buck IMO.

Dead quiet to.

Find some gear you like at your local sporting good store, then get look on ebay for it, I got a lot of gear a 1/3 of the price on there.

I have always been happy when I purchased anything with the Cabelas name on it. If anything goes wrong they have always replaced it even a year later no question asked. This meanss alot to me even if I do pay a premium for it.

One thing about camo is that I would try it on in person versus ordering it through a catelog unless you have no other option. Also I believe the three most important purchases a bow hunter can make is a good bow, a quiet comfortable tree stand and a quiet comfortable hunting suit.

Alot of camo is noisy. A rule of thumb I use is to rub my fingernails on the outside and inside of the product. If it is not absolutely quiet its going to make noise in the woods and in your stand. Your cheaper stuff is going to be noisy and even some of your spendier stuff is also noisy In general, fleece is pretty quiet and its one of my favorite type of cloth but it can get lots of burddocks and other hitchikers on it.

A few years ago one of my buddies bought the latest handy dandy scent elimantor suite for a couple of hundy and it was god awful noisy thing I had ever seen.

My main coldweather suit is a Browning Hydro Fleece suit which I paid top dollar for in the early 1990's. I have used that suit the past 15 years and it has about 40 harvests under its belt. Its warm, repells water and most importantly its quiet and comfortable.

Good Luck
