Does anyone know if it still requires the 3 day wait..or can they do the background check the same day..thinking about going and buying a gun tomorrow..maybe..ha, thanks for the help

For a handgun, you have to have a permit to purchase. If you have that, you can bring the gun home the same day. If you don't have a permit to purchase, you'll need to go to the county sheriff's office to apply for one. You have to go to the county sheriff's office in which your driver's license says you live. It becomes active three days after the date of application.

For other guns, I don't think there is a waiting period at all. They call it in from the store, I believe.

What are you getting?

Just a new shotgun is all...still wide open on what I want for sure..the new SX3's are some sweet guns..but im kind of a remington guy...

Should be same day, if it's a long gun...I'm not sure for the weekend though.

You're right the SX3's are awesome.

Same day for a long gun as long as you have a name that is not very general like John Smith or something.

Seen a lot of people have a 24 hour to a 3 day hold to run the NIX check because of the common name where someone else with the same name has gotten in trouble.
