Hey guys, we have one deer that the cape ended up being bad. Just found out. Gave away some management buck capes & obviously should have kept a spare. Oh well. Anyways, really big old deer & want a really big awesome cape. Cost is not an issue in this example as it's a mount that needs to turn out right & do justice for the mount. You guys know if any really big, really nice capes or where to locate one and not get burnt? I'm in Des Moines but travel around a decent bit & advice appreciated as well. Thanks a ton!!

Check the "for sale" section at Taxidermy.net <http://www.taxidermy.net/forum/index.php>
There is also a spot there to check out the reputation of the seller.

Try ebay or taxidermy.net. I have a monster 24" neck cape off a 7 yr old ,but its sitting on my garage floor salted and ready to send to the tannery ;)

Call Mike in Sgt. Bluff Iowa. He is the processor here and he has stock piles of hides. If the hunter don't take the hides he sells them. I've seen several big mature capes there.7129434155
