buzzcut to the shoulder

I hunted yesterday morning at a location I've been to a couple times this year already and saw movement on the side of a hill to my east. No bucks, just does but that seems to be the travel route right now. I got down around 10 and went up there to find a location to hang a stand that afternoon and hunt. I had some stuff to do and I came back in around 3 with my best setup I have for a quick hang and hunt. Took me longer and was louder than I thought it would be but I got it done and in a fantastic spot. 20 minutes after I got settled in, a yearling walked right under me, so either he was extremely dumb (yearling :) ) or I didn't make as much noise as I thought :way:

That deer worked his way through to a field where they feed and I was just sitting enjoying the calm afternoon and burning up in the sun! At about 5:30 I could hear something slowly making its way towards me from behind which is really thick timber area. I couldn't see anything until she stepped out into the crp at about 40 yards. She began slowly working her way around me but wasn't looking like she was going to get any closer with the direction she was slowly meandering. I would have loved a closer shot, but she was standing perfectly broadside, not nervous at all, barely a wind (or so I thought). I finally decided to take the shot and I don't know if I was off a little or if the wind did more than I though it would but my arrow flew a little left and buried in her shoulder. She took off on three legs, went about 40 yards and crashed just out of sight. I knew my arrow went through the shoulder it hit, but I wasn't sure on penetration after that, I could see a lot of arrow sticking out when she ran off. I waited until dark then got down and snuck up to where she went and sure enough she was done. Here's a couple of pics of here shoulder. The left side is the socket between her shoulder blade and leg bone (not sure what that bone is called). Anyway, I was pretty impressed with the damage from the magnus stinger buzzcut.

Wow...i had the same thing happen to me yesterday i was putting another ratchet on a ladder stand which was extremely loud and had a 3 year old 9 come to 30 yards...

I'm a big fan of the buzzcuts! Here is the shoulder blade from a big buck that is shot 2 years ago. Dropped him in his tracks!

How do u like ur quest bow? I have a prime centroid and I've been kinda curious about the quests.

I love it, but its only the second bow I've had and a big upgrade from the first (hoyt intruder). Its pretty smooth and quiet. The only issue I can see is the draw module rubs hard on the string. The corner of the module to get over the hump to he letoff zone is rather drastic and I think it is just a lot of pressure on that point in the string. But its light, shoots straight and doesn't break the bank :way:
