Cable Stands

Just a quick note to everyone who, like myself have a habit of leaving stands in trees well after the season is over. If you have any in which the platform is held up by those thin steel cables take a VERY GOOD LOOK at where the cable is joined at the bottom. The cable will rust out there very rapidly and wont hold you up long enough to get your belt on. I had it happen and was lucky enough to have still been holding on to the tree at the time. Almost didnt have to worry about being drawn next year.

Use to make our stands from wood, only lasted 5-6 years and time to rebuild...now we make them out of steel angle and expanded metal...then suspend them with stainless steel cables...glad you weren't hurt
