Forgive me in advance, as I likely didn't do this process by the book. In the summer of 2023, I applied two separate doses of glyphosate in strips for prepping to plant switchgrass. I then seeded the switchgrass in early fall using a Great Plains 606NT no-till drill. Throughout 2024, I consistently mowed the areas where I planted the switchgrass, but did not use any herbicides. By the end of 2024, I observed that the result was about 98% various grasses and only 2% switchgrass that is about 1ft tall. I’m wondering if there’s still potential for the switchgrass to thrive this year, and if so, what steps I can take to improve its chances. I have the ability to mow, spray, and possibly burn the strips, but I’m unsure of the best approach. I’m open to any suggestions you might have, or if you believe it’s a lost cause at this point.
