Camera Locks??

Well, my 1st cheap 35MM camera grew some legs and walked away. I had it out looking for survivors and when I went to check it this morning, it was gone. I guess it doesn't surprise me since it was on public property and was not locked at all. Conversely, it does surprise me since it wasn't in an easy to get to local, both latches were broke, the belt webs in the back were broke, and it took a little ingenuity to hook it to the tree each time. Basically it was almost a total piece of junk, but it was still working.

That said, I don't want the V-cam digital to do the same thing. I've been too trusting but not anymore. How do you deter the thieves?

Eight foot Phyton cable locks. You can find them online and order many and get them all keyed the same.

Locks, chains and cables may do the trick, but I have imagine that if someone wants the camera bad enough....he's gonna get it no matter what you put on there. It certainly is sad though that someone just can't leave something that isn't there's alone!!!

I also use the Phython Master Lock w/ my v-cam. But like Xtec Shooter had said, if some one wants it bad enough they will have it. The good thing with the cable locks is that it takes a little more to cut through it. I lost the keys for one of my Python locks and ended up having to cut it with the old saws-all. It seemed to cut through that cable like butter. <font color="blue"> I guess the main idea is that if they want it they will have it . </font>

Cable locks keep the honest people honest and makes the theives have to work for the item. Nonetheless, I use the Python Locksto keep them as secure as I can.
