Camera Story

Ghost

Life Member
I have a Cuddeback digital set up on a mock scrape I made on a trail. The camera was about 75 yards from a stand I was hunting yesterday morning.

Well, the deer were everywhere yesterday morning. I saw more than my share of deer and about 6 different bucks.

I notice this real nice 7 point 2.5 year old buck walking down the trail toward my camera. As he stops at the scrape and starts to hit it, and I see the camera flash from my stand. Thought that was cool and I will share the pictures when I pull the card.

Can't wait to see the pictures Ghost! I have a camera about the same distance near one of my stands and I always anticipate the flash going off while I am waiting for it to get day light. Has not happen yet but wonder if anyone else has experienced it. Thanks for answering my question!

I have had a similar experience. It was 2003 and I was set-up about 70 yards from a scrape on the edge of the field. On the way to my stand I stopped by the scrape to put out the camera. Well, about 10 minutes later a small buck walked by the camera, and a little bit later some does walked by it. The camera took around 5 pictures that evening, and not one of the deer were spooked away.

Here is a picture of the buck that walked by. It was pretty cool to see his reactions after the flash went off. He acted like nothing even happened.
