My ultimate goal this year is to kill a turkey with my bow.

Being said....

Do you think I should use a 2 blade Rage

Or

Montec Pre-Season Broadhead??

Or what have you used?

I have a set of Guilotines but I am not to sure about them.

Thanks in advance guys!!

I don't hunt turks with bow, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

My friends that do hunt with bow use the same broadheads they do with deer, which happens to be a Muzzy fixed blade or a Rage mechanical. If you have a broadhead that flies true, I'd go with that one. IMO the Rage 2 or 3 blade wouldn't be a bad choice at all.

big cut shoot them in the body. I dont think it is possible to make a poor choice on a turkey broad heads. Big cut... they are just birdies.

Do you have confidence in your rages??? SHOOT EM!! TEAR EM APART!!

I have chased them with a bow for about a decade and shot a couple dozen. The one thing I have learned...shoot a big head! YOU WILL BE amazed what these birds can take and keep trucking. I have started using the Turkey Tomahawk by Rocket the past 2 years and haven't had any issues. 2 3/4" at 125 grains. Rage wouldn't be bad either though or the rocket hammerhead. Have had good luck with both. You must aim higher and further back that you ever imagined on broadsde shots. So many are lost with breast shots. In my opinion, The best shot is going away in the spine. Never chase em, they almost always hop off and find the first bush, log etc and lay down. You will find them later, chase em and they get a second wind. Trust me. I have made that mistake! In any case, shoot the broadhead that you have the most confidence in and are THE MOST ACCURATE! That comes before cut or speed. Just my 2 cents.

Ever seen a fat guy chase a bird throught the timber after getting spurred...... you dont want to.. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

Hammerheads work great. I would be scared to use a 2inch rage but that is just me, I like mass destruction with 3 blades.

I remember reading or hearing that the guy that owns Double K Outfitters (the one that the guys from Double Bull hunt with a lot) recommends all his clients use the 2" Rage.
Anyone who is on as many kills as he is, probably has a good idea of what works and what doesn't.

Now if I could just figure out what I'm gonna use this year I'll be set. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif
