Where I hunt, one of the best spots is an corner of woods along a 20 acre patch of 10 year. It's more of a travel route, but there's always deer there morning or night. I have been thinking of asking the land owner if I could plant a food plot there in that end of the patch, thinking maybe the deer will hang around a little longer. You know, a little corn, beans, alfalfa, clover or what ever. Last saturday I finally ask him about it and he tell's me that he was gonna do it anyway.
He say's he always has some beans and corn seed left over and it goes to waste anyway. He's hoping at least to cut down on deer browse in his good fields. He already filled out the paper work with the gov't to take some of the 10 year out. So I'm gonna help him mow and get it ready. Can't wait til this fall
