The Cedar Rapids urban deer hunt will run from Sept. 17-Jan. 15. In order to participate in this year's hunt, you must complete the following: an eight-hour Iowa Bow Hunter's Safety Course, an Urban Deer Management application and an annual proficiency certification test. Hunting permits will be issued at the end of the Urban Deer Hunt Rules and Regulations class if all items have been completed. The city website does say sept 17th.But the dnr has it as sept 10th.Just like most others.For some reason as of last year it starts the week before youth season.

I receive an electronic daily newsletter and the text that I forwarded to Blake was a direct copy from it. I apologize for any confusion on the date, to the best of my knowledge it appeared accurate and there was the link to the CR Fire Dept for validation. Thanks for the clarification jclaws. So the DNR page takes precedent here I assume???

I dont hunt there.I just new that some of the others started on the 10th.But the city website does say the 17th also.I know they have shot some whoppers around cedar rapids though.

WEIRD? I've never seen/or heard of a big buck from that area:drink1:

I do know they needed some "urban" help the last few years. Weapon of choice should be a truck with a reinforced cattle-guard, hunting along the 151 by-pass:grin:
