Chasing....?

Last night while I was hunting, I saw a good looking year and a half old six point chasing around a doe. He was really dogging her, and she wanted nothing to do with him. Has anyone else seen any chasing yet? Seems kind of early. It’s always cool to watch.

Except that he chased her away from me.

Friday in the rain I watched deer all afternoon. There was a couple running hot laps around me.

I think it was just does playing (or one randy little yearling). They were literally doing big circles into the timber, then back out into the field.

They were making the turn of their 'laps' about 25 yds from me - it was a lot of fun to watch them.

The young bucks start chasing and pestering the does before the older bucks do, right?

i think young ones are like us teenage boys. We get a little ansy sometimes

when girl tease ya kno? and the big old bucks or older guys (some) kno when a girl is teasing. lol thats how i look at it

The other day I saw a fork horn bull chasing a cow running through town. Its full swing rut, 2 bulls were found dead fifty yds from ancorage university locked up.

OK, yesterday right at sunset a 130 - 140 class eight was feeling very frisky and was grunting and chasing 3 does all over the place. The does looked terrified, rather than annoyed like with the smaller buck. He was a very pretty buck, really dark rack that was outside his ears, reminded me of IronWoods buck from last year, but going with the theory of smaller bucks chasing first, I knew the real big boys are still waiting. Won’t be long now!

By the way, he came out of the standing corn.

Watched a button buck try to mount a doe last night. He got a hoof in the jaw.

I guess that's the deer version of slap in the face.
