Cheap Trail cams

Though I'm sure none will compare to the sony homebrews, i need to buy a couple more cams. 3 was fine, 2 isn't enough. Any recommendations on a decent cam or 2 that won't break the bank. I know with $ quality suffers too, but I've concluded, it's realistic to expect a camera or two to be destroyed each yr.I could buy some $50 bear boxes but would rather use the $ onmore cams.

I dont know what your version of cheap is. But the Stealth Cams seem to be pretty decent for the money.

I know there are a few people on here that use them and love them.

I'm a big stealth cam user, I love those camera's. But after looking at a few photo's from a wildlife View IR camera, I may have to try one or two of them. They seem to be pretty decent cams for under a 100 bucks.

I've got the Stealth I540 IR.
It seems to be holding up pretty well.
Takes excelent pics, and only in the $120 range.

I use the $100 Moultrie model and 2 of the Wildview 3.0 megapixel models, got the 2 wildviews for $100. The quality is mediocre, but I don't care about that, I just want to take inventory on what I'll be hunting in the fall. I can get a quality pic when taking harvest photos. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

a buddy of mine was just asking about a decent camera with out breaking the bank. he has a moultrie, and is sick of it. how much are you guys selling the homebrews for?

Look on ebay for some Stealth Cams. I got one off there earlier this year, have had it out for almost all summer and the battery is still at 100%.

I'm also going to try a couple of these.

I also agree with the Wildview, all though the battery life isn't the greatest. I did put the optional 12 volt on mine and that helps.
Photo quality is better than some but could use improvement. Mine were stolen but I do plan on replacing them.
Here's a few examples.

I ordered a moultrie I40. I'm sure I'll be shopping for more cams when I am down there in Aug........and a decoy.....and a ladder stand....and alot of stuff.

That's a good choice. The batteries last forever.

For the guys considering the Wildviews, I got two of the 2.0's last year and I haven't had very good luck with them. The battery life is absolutely HORRIBLE especially when the weather gets cooler. Also, the date can't be updated on one of them. The only good thing about them is that you can hook them up to an external battery which I've done (parts sold separately, I rigged mine up with my own parts without the special cable/battery you can get). Extends battery life many times. Wildviews are made by Stealth.

Well.....how do these two fer ones work? I'm looking at getting into this whole trail cam addiction myself. Just what I need /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif Anyway, not looking for award winning pix just something to let me know what's walking the woods. I'd love to have two cameras but would rather not have two bad ones so if anyone has bought these can you please comment on them?

I just received the 2 pack in the mail on Wednesday. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif I've got one in the woods already, and the other is going out today. I'll post pictures in a week or two, but as for right now, I can tell you that they're pretty easy to use. Pretty simple. I'm guessing you will need to put it on a pile of corn, or mineral in order to get any good pictures, so I did. But I'll post pics later.
