chest measurements to equal weight?

My dad popped one tonite, he has no scale but is pretty damn excited. Said the chest measurement is about 50 inches, I have no idea if that's "big" or not. Is there a way to guesstimate a deers weight by chest measurements?

Oh, sounds like it was a good 8 pointer, missing both browtines so down to a big 6. Pics to come later.

50" WOW!! I shot one last year that was 48 and I thought it was big. Wait til you see the chart, you're not gonna believe it.

I was wrong, he was only 47 inches, just got off the phone... still, sounds like a damn big boy... might have to make the drive home and check this thing out.

47" is still big. A friend of mine shot a buck this last week that had a 48" chest measurement and a dressed weight of 269 lbs. It was an absolute pig.

We shot one a few days ago 24 in. around the top of his neck He went 230 dressed.
