Climber Treestand Thoughts

I was just wanting to know what people like about climbers, what they hate, their favirote climber, or one that they would never use. I just want some thoughts from people who actually hunt and not people trying to just sell me a stand. -micah

I have used a few different climbers over the years and the one I like the best is the Ol Man climber. The net seat is very quiet and comfortable, it is light weight, hooks easy to the tree, climbs easy and quiet, seem very durable. What I done like in general about climbers is the limitation to strait trees.

Have been using climbers for 16 years. The first ones were homemade, worked great, still use them. But a few years ago bought a Summit, most comfortable stand I ever sat in,just have to be careful not to fall asleep.I hunt river bottoms so straight trees are plentifull. There are alot of good stands and each one has its place where they work good.

I have only used an API. What I like - they have a safety bar that goes around you that give you a good feeling of security. You can go as high as you want. Since I got my Lone Wolf I use it alot more. Don't have to worry about a tree having branches like with a climber. Adjusting to the tree diameter shrinkage while getting to desired height (20 foot for me) is kind of a pain. They are comfortable though. Good luck!
