THOUGHT YA'LL MIGHT LIKE TO TELL ME HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT THIS MAN: <ul type="square"> ON TUESDAY A MAN NAMED HURSTON GUE, AGE 77, COMMITED THE WORST ACT OF ANIMAL CRUELTY I HAVE EVER HEARD OF OR SEEN. ABOUT AN HOUR FROM ME ACROSSED THE RIVER IN THE RURAL AREA OF CABELL COUNTY WEST VIRGINIA, THIS MAN DRUG HIS JENNY(A FEMALE DONKEY) BEHIND HIS 4 WHEELER. [/list] <ul type="square"> THE OFFICER WHO RESPONDED TO THE CALL SAID THIS: AFTER I ARRIVED ON THE SCENE AND SPOKE WITH WITNESSES I FOLLOWED A HALF OF A MILE LARGE TRAIL OF BLOOD DOWN THE ROAD(WHICH WAS ALL PAVED ROAD) WHICH LEAD TO A LARGE POOL OF BLOOD NEXT TO THE ROAD. THEN HE CALLED FOR EXTRA HELP TO SEARCH FOR THE DONKEY. WHEN THE OTHER SEARCHERS ARRIVED THEY FOUND THE DONKEY NOT FAR OFF THE ROAD, NEAR DEATH AND COULD BARELY STAND. [/list] <ul type="square"> THE MAN WHO OWNED THE DONKEY DRUG IT BEHIND THE 4-WHEELER FOR A HALF OF A MILE ON A PAVED ROAD, ON THE DONKEYS HAUNCHES. THE DONKEY WAS LATER EUTHANIZED, BECAUSE THE VET SAID THE INJURIES WERE WAY TOO SEVERE FOR SURVIVAL.

  • SOME OF YOU MAY HAVE ALREADY HEARD THIS STORY, BUT IT JUST AMAZES ME THAT SOMEONE COULD BE SO HEARTLESS, COLD, AND JUST PLAIN STUPID. THE AGE OF THE DONKEY IS UNKNOWN BUT THE VET SAID IT APPEARS TO BE A VERY YOUNG DONKEY!

You ask what we think about this alleged animal cruelty. Are we to assume that this elderly man (77 y/o) was of sound mind?

Meaning he was fully aware of what he was doing, no dementia, mental illness, or Alzheimer’s?
 
THEY JUST INTERVIEWED THE MAN ON THE 6:00 NEWS, AND HE SAID THAT "THE WITNESSES AND POLICE HAD NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT, WHAT I DID, DIDN'T HURT THAT DONKEY AT ALL". MAYBE THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH HIM BUT THERE WERE 2 OTHER HORSES ON HIS FARM THAT, ACCORDING TO THE NEWS, WAS SUFFERING FROM MALNUTRITION.

Why are things like this allowed to happen? I am deeply saddened when any living thing suffers needlessly like this. But I believe that it is an opportunity that we may know ourselves more deeply. This poor creatures death was not in vain if it forces humanity to look more closely at itself and just may bring us one step closer to healing the collective heart of mankind.
 
it happens every where, just like the a** hole who had the 16 dogs here in des moines, living in 5-6" of thier own feces, with maggots, he is trying to get his dogs back, fat chance if i had any thing to say about it, too bad the dogs didn't turn on him, would like to lock him up with my Rott for a few hours of "counseling"
 
Whether or not this man was of a sound mind, really isn't the question. The act of animal cruelty is evident and extremely aggrivating. Even in the interview he said that he done nothing wrong to hurt that animal. I volunteer my four wheeler and a rope to drag this guy down some rough, unmaintained Iowa roads.

Now on the other hand, if this guy is found not to be of a sound mind, I hope they put him somewhere where he has no access to animals and can get help. In my own opinion, the act was still uncalled for.
