Concealed Weapons Permit

Does anyone from Story Co. know how hard it is to get a concealed weapons permit there? A friend is moving there and was asking me. Thanks
 
If he is not in law inforcement I would doubt he will be able to get one.I have heard it is next to impossible to get these but I am just going on what I've been told by other's.
 
Thanks Roy, I was wondering if someone was going to answer this post. He isnt in law enforcement so he is probably S.O.L.
 
I know in Polk county you can get one pretty easy (so I am told by a friend that works at the olfson's shooting range) but I don't know about other counties.

I have one and it wasn't hard in Buchanan county. Just had to go through a instructional course which was excellent and have an interview with the sheriff. I would suggest your friend have a fairly legitimate reason lined up and dress fairly nice. Doesn't have to be overboard but I know appearances mean a lot!!! Good luck!!

Its not hard to get them here (Tulsa). Think we are over 1000 plus /per year now. Already 25 murders this year. Last week a guy was robbing a grocery store and the guy behind him in line had a permit and shot the guy right in the chest...awesome.Cops had no problem with it either.

Real easy to get. 8 hr class and then go to court house. Talk to the sheriff and he has to o.k. the permit. If he likes you good to go if not sucks to be you. In a big town you are probably o.k.
