I had a tree die in the yard last summer. I just got around to cutting it down a few weeks ago. I noticed it seemed like hard wood so I thought I wood try and make a call out of it. It turned out to have some awesome character andwas great wood to work with. Now I need to get some slate on it and see how it sounds. I'm not 100% sure what it is but I think it is European mountian ash.
