Cool pic,

I was just sitting here thinking what this weather will do to the turkey population? with the snow/temp combo it has got to tough as hell for them right now!

Pretty neat!!!!

Turks are super tough. they are thriving in ND right now, in fact in some towns they are out of control!

I honestly dont think occasional cold like this is overly harmful to them. sure its cold and it sucks, but they are tough birds!!

I think excessive flooding/wet/ice is more detremental to the population than harsh temps...
IMO

Thomas,

I agree totally. Really wet springs hurt them the most.

Problem is up in N.E. Iowa we still have ice under the snow.
The break in the weather a few weeks back helped some but still a lot of ice. We will see this weekend how they are doing and then again this spring.

Up here in ND the Turkeys are more worried about the Over-population of Coyotes then the cold temps we have during winter.

They are much more deadly to the Turkeys.

Saw about 75-100 turkeys scratching in the field when I went home for lunch....some big toms out there!
