Coolers

Looking at new cooler, would like to get comments on what you use. Looking at brands like Yeti Sherpa, Iowa Rotocast, and Icey Tech. Still having trouble in my mind with the price of these things compared to Igloo or Coleman.

I have never looked that far into a cooler. What are you using it for?

My coolers usually just hold beer and a little food and is empty at the end of the day. Sometimes I use them for a longer camping trip, but now I have a camper with a fridge and don't need the cooler as much.
Are you going on long trips with it?

I've got the biggest Igloo they make. It's supposed to be a 5 day cooler, it does well keeping ice, but it's all white plastic and it's falling apart. Hinges, handles and locks! Only a few years old with light use.
Same with my dad's and brothers, same model.

I'll be watching this thread, I'm looking for a good one to.

we use a coleman on our elk hunt and we put dry ice in the bottom and ice on top and when we came out of the mountains after 10 days the whole thing was a solid ice chunk. needless to say.......it could have been water and kept the elk WE shot cool enough

I sell the Iowa Rotocast coolers and they are worth every penny. I know those guys go out west each year elk hunting and say if you pack it full of ice and meat, after seven days the meat is frozen.

These coolers are made to last. If you have any questions just pm me.

I've been to Iowa Rotocast's Plant in Decorah and they make an awesome cooler. I don't know if a guy would ever need to buy another. Don't think you could go wrong with this one.

Seems pretty high to me - I don't remember the prices to be that steep. I'm not sure but you might be able to buy direct by calling the factory

You should be able to go direct. If you do ask for Nick in sales. Tell him Justin told you to talk to him. He should be able to get you whatever you need.

They also just started making an elevated box blind out of these same materials. Pretty nice blind. I can prly post a pic of one tomorrow.

64lbs empty, you may need a cart to pull it around on after you fill it with 180 12oz beverages. Then you may need a designated cart puller to tug it back after you empty it.

looks nice but a lot of money. That would cut into the gun fund.
