THE ARTICLE TALKED ABOUT A MOUNTAIN LION WITH A TRACK COLLAR THAT WAS FOUND DEAD IN RED ROCK, OKLAHOMA. IT WAS FOUND THIS PAST MAY AND IT TURNS OUT THAT IT IS THE SAME COUGAR THAT WAS TREED THEN TRANQUILIZED BY SOUTH DAKOTA STATE UNIVERSITY IN FEBRUARY 2003. THE MOUNTAIN LION HAD TRAVELED AN AMAZING 700 MILES AND CROSSED ATLEAST 4 STATE LINES. THE LAST SIGNAL THAT WAS MONITORED WAS IN SEPTEMBER IN THE WYOMING BLACK HILLS, 58 MILES FROM WHERE IT WAS ORIGINALLY COLLARED. SO FROM SEPRTEMBER TO MAY IT COVERED MANY MANY MILES UNTIL IT WAS HIT BY A TRAIN IN OKLAHOMA. THE DISTANCE THE COUGAR TRAVELED WAS MORE THEN DOUBLE THE PREVIOUS DOCUMENTED RECORDS.
JUST THOUGHT SOME OF YA'LL MIGHT BE INTERESTED. CAN'T BELIEVE IT TRAVELED THAT FAR.
