Cowboy Sam

How times have changed. My wife was reading this old book to my son tonight and I couldn't help but to laugh out loud. Heres part of the story. The book is from 1952.


So I don't have to type the whole story theres a wolf chasing his cows and hes went looking for him.

Cowboy sam made a big fire.
He put his gun near him.
Cowboy Sam went to bed.
Soon he went to sleep.
Then something woke him!
The big cows woke up.
They said "Maa!!!!"
Cowboy sam heard the cows and the little calves.
He heard the wolf, too.
He Got up.
He walked around the fire.
He saw two big yellow spots.
He shot at the two spots. Bang! Bang!
The yellow spots went away.
"The black Wolf will not come again," said Cowboy Sam.

Story content aside, I'm glad to hear that you and your wife make a point of reading to your son. Some of my most stongest memories growing up are of people in my family reading to me (including my grandfather). I made a promise to myself that if I ever have kids of my own, I'm gonna read to them every night.
