Cranberry Time!

Well, I got out in the woods last night for a bit...not much luck...and now today after work I'm off to WI to help my dad harvest cranberries for the weekend. I hate having to miss the good treestand weather this weekend in IA, but this is something that's done every year on this weekend so I know its coming. At least we'll have cool weather to work in and its a pretty good time getting together with everyone that helps each year. I'll try and get some pic's of the harvest up next week so you all can see how it goes, its a pretty interesting process. Here's a pic from last year.

That is awesome! I just did a brief lesson about harvesting cranberries to my 4th graders yesterday. Is that in Iowa?

tlambert,

Is that by Warrens? my wife wants me to go to the cranberry fest there next year.

Yeah, its about 4 miles from Warrens. If you're big into crafts and thousands of people, go to the cranfest...if you're not, have fun...

She said there was a beer garden in every corner.

It's supposed to be quality time, she's shopping, I'm drinking

Well I guess you could say that, there's one main corner in town and there is a bar on it that sets up a tent. It is a blast drinking there though. I went this year and the place was packed...probably had something to do with the wet t-shirt contest...probably don't need to tell the wif about that! Just gotta wait and go after dark, then the streets aren't packed and you can drive into town.
You'll have to let it be known if you go next year, I can show you were to hang out while the wife shops.
