Land of the Whitetail
There is an area near my house that I have shed hunted the past several years and have had great success there finding several sheds each year typically and couple really nice ones to boot. I noticed last spring that a chunk of ground that is next to it became public hunting. I was excited for that, but kind of disappointed too. It had really small signs and could not really read the print from the road anyways. I recognized the rectangular green sign and went online and looked up the property. It was not on the DNR site, but was under the county, and it is now open to hunting. I was pretty excited as it was not on the DNR site, just the county. So I was thinking that it would not get near the attention and with the little signs a ways from the road that no one would really notice. The area has a lot of deer and the sheds on the bordering properties had me excited. I hung a cam out the past few weeks and got a lot of pics, no shooters, but I'm sure there's some around. Anyways, I drive by the piece everyday to and from work. Yesterday on the way to work I notice a vehicle in the ditch. Oh well, its a busy road, maybe some wrecked or had a flat and just pulled of the shoulder. About 100 yards down theres another truck, uh oh. Then on the way home from work today there are 3 trucks pulled over on the shoulder, one with hunting stickers on the back window. :( gosh darnit lol. Just thought I would come on here and rant a little bit. Thought I may of had a little secret spot close to home. Oh well, its public so there is nothing wrong with others hunting there.

If you are close to a larger city, that's gonna happen. But, they can't shoot them all and they can't be there all the time. Do your homework and get in there. I'm sure you know it better than they do after all that shed hunting.

It will most likely make your shed hunting better unless they use that property as an avenue into the place you hunt. Shed poachers suck.

X2... with that i would be getting quite a few signs to post the property you are on.
