decent night

Cain completely dominated Brock and smashed his face to boot. If his cheek and eye area is not broken I would be surprised.
 
Best part of the night was the camera shot of brock seconds after the fight where the gash under his ey wouldnt stay shut when they kept applying vasoline to it. I love that stuff
 
Dang surely I'm not the only one who likes Brock here. I think it sucks he got his butt beat. Hes a midwestern farmboy who loves to hunt & fish and promotes it. I'm surprised you all would rather see Velasquez win. And that was one nasty gash on his cheek!
 
I like Lesnar until he opens his mouth. Although in the last few fights he was decent and didnt say much. And the shot of the cut reopening was cool.

Cain definatly was a better athlete last night no doubt. He definatly didnt want to be on the ground with Brock thats for sure.
 
Cmon guys, Brock's a good guy and he loves to hunt. He's paid big to be an a-hole when in reality he's not. I'll find out what happened on our next pheasant hunt. He didn't look prepared at all.
 
I can't help but like brock, he'll have to become a better striker or at least better defense to take on shane and cain though. I think carwin will destroy cain when they eventually meet.

I disagree. Cain has the better striking in my opinion, plus speed, plus a fuel tank that will not be drained.

Now if Cain can get by JDS, that will be the real question. JDS has the upper hand on the striking.

Lesnar just got into MMA to late in the game. He is a beast, and still has a lot of fights left in him, but if he would have started MMA 10 years ago, he would probably be unstoppable.
 
Also, I don't think alot of you guys are giving Cain much credit. 9-0 record and a heck of a wrestling pedigree behind him. He is a heck of a fighter, and if he can make it past JDS, I don't think there is anyone in the HW divison that can touch him.
 
I was impressed by Cain's strength the first time Brock bull-rushed him (Brock was smart enough to know he HAD to get that fight on the ground). BUT I think Carwin's early fade in the Lesnar fight was a fluke and a result of too much adrenaline. I just don't think Cain can stand toe to toe with Carwin. I haven't seen JDS fight yet.
I hope it's not too late for Brock to get some more strike training, or more strike defense than simply turtling up. I'd love for him to dominate the division, but I don't know if it will happen. He seems to be a extremely dedicated in training, but that may be too much to ask. Matt Hughs dominated for years w/o being much of a stand-up striker, maybe Brock needs to get some advice from him.
 
Lesnar will come back in 6 months & destroy Cain, I think he will be the champion for a long time. He may lose the belt a few times but he always improves & comes back better. Also, I believe it was a TKO. Tito Ortiz it's time to retire.

True, Hughes did dominate mostly off wrestling, but you are now in a time of a whole different level of fighters that Hughes faced. Hughes last 3 fights have been his best fights of his career in my opinion, but he still can't hang with the top 5 in the WW division.

JDS has had a bunch of fights in the UFC in the last 2 years. His domination of cro cop is when people starting taking him seriously. In the after fight interview, Cain himself said he was worried about JDS striking.

As far as Carwin vs. Cain, I'd bet money on Cain. Way to much for Carwin to handle. Carwin has never been pushed past the first round, he has relied on his striking to ko someone quick. Cain will be smart enough not to circle to Carwins right side.

Lesnar will be back, he is still in the top 5 HW in UFC right now, one loss is good for him, should make him hungry to get back. He doens't need to work on his striking at all, he needs to work on his striking DEFENSE :grin: .

I agree whole heartedly, it's amazing to see how dominating he can look one moment and how stunned the next moment after a couple shots. Anyway, I think he'll be joining Hughs in a different type of focus the next couple of months.

Might have to do some kind of picture bet on here. :grin:

But, Cain has to get by JDS first, and Carwin has to get by Roy Nelson first (and if he can't get by him, there is no way possible he can beat Cain).
 
It might not be in a title fight, but Cain and Carwin will definitely hook up one day, lot of people want to see that fight! It'll be interesting to see what Carwin's power can do to Nelson's chin. Nelson is one tough sucker!

I'll be looking forward to the Cain/JDS fight too...
 
Wow... I guess Im the only one that Big Country is a joke. I will admit Nelson can take some abuse but he doesnt have the abilitys to beat Cain. Maybe Carwin if he gets Carwin on the ground or catches him with something but striking I will give to Carwin all day long.
