decoys on Friday

I am going with my 8 year old little brother on friday morning. We are hunting a decent sized pasture that today had 3 strutters 6 hens and a few other toms and jakes running around. They are never in the same area of the pasture. always within a few hundred yards area. I am just curious how many deeks I should use. I have the pretty boy/girl, 4 hens and two jakes.

I figured i would use a pretty boy/girl and one or two other hens.

Just looking for some input on what you would do the first day out.

I believe im going with B-mobile and a couple hen dekes. Hunting a pasture as well with my GF's little brother.

no opinions??? Well I went to watch "our" birds this morning. 8 toms strutting and about 15 hens. I guess well just give er hell.

I scouted this morning as well, gobbling like crazy but flew down on an adjacent property. Last weekend had 6 toms in that open pasture. B-mobile will be employed on that open ridge. Have to pull at least 1 away.

I would have to ask, "what does the young hunter want to shoot?"
If it is an adult gobbler, jakes and gobbler dekes would be fine. If he just wants to shoot any legal bird and he would be happy with a jake, I would leave the gobbler and jake decoys home.
I have watched plenty of jakes and gobblers run for the next ridge when they see my jake decoys over the years.
Certain situations call for gobbler and jake decoys...but I am very careful when using them.

I would say that he would shoot any legal bird but when there are 8 mature birds using it, i figured go for it?

I would say one thing,
"If you got leather nuts, put 'em on the grill" and use the whole flock! But what do I know.....
