How dedicated are you???

My wife was 8 months pregnant while we were in Southern Cali. I was still deep sea fishing

. Don't worry I got my cell phone(just for that reason) and she knew which tackle shop to call so they could radio out to the boat should I not have a signal.

My step-father got off work(14 yrs ago) the truck was already packed for the opening day of rifle season(WV) and ready for the cabin. He got the message my mom was in labor at the hospital. He went to the hospital in cammies, seen that he was already too late for the birth. My mom was fine he seen my brother...and went to the cabin

Those are bad but not horrible, so what are your stories of dedication?

Had a friend take a hunting trip with me one year, his wife was due the weekend we returned. Took a good set of ....'s. Fortunately everything worked out, other than his sore eardrums.

My turn came a couple years later when he kept bugging me to go on our annual trip and my wife was expecting.....I told him, "Sooorry, I guess I'm not quite as dedicated." He still ribs me about not going.

If my wife knew I put this on the internet she would kill me...

My daughter was born November 5th last year. What timing! She was 5 weeks early as it was, but was supposed to be a spring baby according to the "original plan". All my buddies said "thats it man, your done for the season" and laughed their heads off. They are a cruel bunch. Anywho, I think my wife may have been under the influence of medication because I somehow managed to go pheasant hunting for a few hours on the morning of the 6th, two birds later I was off to the hospital. With the wife apparently still heavily sedated, I got in a nice bow hunt the morning of the 7th, and decided to not push my luck when a 135 incher followed a doe under my stand. Back at the hospital by noon with pics for the nurses!!

The medication has long since worn off and don't think for a minute I have'nt heard about it a few time since. Hey man, ya gotta do what ya gotta do...
