Deer Feeder

I now this post shouldn't be in this forum. I put it here because so many people are checking out this forum during the rut. Does anyone have plans to make a 55 GAL drum tripod deer feeder. Been wanting to put one on my land for a couple of years now but never found any plans. I'll be waiting until winter to put it out though so I'm not in any hurry. Thanks for your help!!!

If i had my own property I would do it! Especially if it's a harsh winter! Just make sure you don't have it up durring any deer seasons.
I think there is an artical in an older field and stream magazine that talks about different feeders, and feed. Should take a look at it and see if there is anything interesting you could try!

i use to make them alot when i lived in oklahoma. we used those 55gal blue hard plastic drums that alot of people ran out and got a few yrs ago. they made two types one that had a ratchet down top and one that had a pour spout top w/ cover. either one works fine. u can prime it, paint it, or use anything u want for coverage. then i used the muletree leg attachment kit ($20), along with any timer u want to buy (we used the $50 muletree daylight), then buy some 1 1/2" x 12' heavy conduit or something similar from the harware store. prime them and then paint them as well. the main thing it to make sure the legs are spaced out and mounted properly for stability! if u have any other ? please ask, there are a few minor tricks u could also do.
