Deer Parade Questions

This morning I had a doe run through with 4 bucks trailing, all about 25 feet apart. One after another they came through. By the time they left she had picked up a 5th buck (150 class) and a 6th (a grubby like basket rack). Here are my questions.

They obviously were on her trail hard. What techniques would most of you use to pull one or more of the bucks off her.

Second question, even had the bucks came close enough to shoot, they never stopped moving. What is your best call/noise for getting a trotting or running buck to stop for a shot?

Hopefully they'll all be back in the area tomorrow and I can put an arrow in one of them.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Thanksgiving = 1 Doe + 6 bucks. This is a text book example of the senerio of the last does in estrus in the area. 1 Female gets all the attention.

Light rattling with a snort wheeze might pull them away. In my small experiences once multiple bucks are trying to tend the same doe not much will make them peel off of her becuase if they miss a chance of her holding still Buck 3 or 4 might jump on and buck 1 wont be there to stop it.

Non-deer sounds are what I have had my best luck with in a case like that. I had a buck and doe go past me in the rut this year. Even though I didnt want to shoot the buck I wanted his picture and he wouldnt stop. I grunted by mouth, by call, and an estrus call and he wouldnt even look up and he was well with in ear shot. He was so constrated on her standing still that when I could get her to stop he would start to climb up. I finally whistled like I was whistling at a goodlooking woman walking down the street to get the buck to stop to look at me and by then he was headed across a swamp away from me.
