I've seen three deer dead along the highway on the way to work the last two weeks, a 1.5 yr old buck, a doe and one ground into beyond recognition burger on I80.
I think as the deer herd shrinks, drivers become complacent and let their guard down. So they basically hit about as many as when there are more deer.
