I alway buy the Repel 100% deet in the pump spray bottle from walmart and i use that on my boots and up to thighs and then the lower percentages everywhere else. Keeps the ticks off pretty well
 
Nothing will compare to Permathrin. Only problem I had with deer back in the day was it melting things. Now with Permathrin, no reason to buy it though
 
I think they make some Permathrin don't they? I'm 99% sure I've used them and worked really well. Any type of Permathrin did though. I only mix my own now because I'm outside so much that it's more cost effective to mix my own but ya- I remember that being good stuff.
 
Spray on clothes and let dry. I do it days in advance. I have a big mixed sprayer on my deck- I do a huge load of clothes at once... socks, shirts, pants, everything. Let it dry for a day and fold it up for use later. I was spending $100/season on Permathrin from sports store & now I mix my own and maybe spend $5/year.
 
You can get it on the internet or farm supply stores, Made for livestock but basically the same stuff. I use it on my clothes,spray deet type on skin. Works real good for ticks. Helps alot for chiggers, but even with all that prep,,a few chiggers bites still show up. I almost hate them more than ticks,,except they don't carry diseases. They somehow always find a spot of skin i didn't spray good:mad:.
 
Where can you find this sawyers permathin. Me and the wife hung a camera today and honestly had over 100 ticks on us. I've only been covered like this once before and it was seed ticks in May when I was turkey hunting. Nasty nasty, they were all removed but its a good thing we were out on the farm because two butt naked people standing in the back of a truck would sure draw some attention.

I bought the Sawyers Permathrin at Dicks Sporting Goods in the camping section. I will most likely be going with the concentrate and mixing my own like Skip does from now on just because its cheaper and my brother and dad use it when fixing fence and spending time in the pasture.
 
That was the last thing on my mind. But I have enough permathin to last for a few years now. Fin and feather in ic has 3-4 different brands so I got one of each
