Hunter Injured Friday While Hunting Deer in Delaware County
A Dubuque man was injured Friday after shooting himself in the leg while deer hunting in Delaware County.
Kenneth Leslein, 53, was hunting deer in a wooded area near the Maquoketa River west of Delhi when he slipped and the pistol he was using discharged into his lower leg shortly before 8:20 a.m.
Leslein was taken to Regional Medical Center in Manchester then transferred to University of Iowa Hospitals where he was being treated for what are believed to be a non-life threatening injury.
