I was looking at my legislative update this morning. Is there really a bill someone put out there that says you can shoot deer with depredation tags and just let them rot and not have to at least donate the meat? Thats insane although I’m pretty sure it happens all the time but now they want to make it legal? SMH!

It initially started out that way 20 yrs ago or whatever it was. What changed was that using a dep tag during season, you could keep it. Sounds like they are just going back to the original policy. Dep tags were/are typically issued during the summer months. Most didn’t want to keep them for processing that time of year anyway. Once the deer could be processed, guys started saving the tags until gun seasons and then they get shared.
