Digging up and transplanting cedars

Is it best to do this in the spring or fall?

I did it a few springs ago and I think I still have 100% alive.

Spring is best. I don't know,,where are ya? Having good moisture is important. My area in SE Iowa drying out pretty good now. Two wks since last moisture. If you are west in Iowa you got rain this Morning. Probably still plenty wet. Might be OK. Rain as predicted,,dieing out moving to eastern IA> No more seen for the 7 to 10 days future.

Thanks guys, spring works great for us.

I live in western IA and we got plenty of moisture here, might give it a shot if I find a spare minute in the next couple weeks... but doubt that happens with harvest and bowseason starting

Do you have a spade for the skid Jordan? if not, how are you going to go about it?

I've pulled small ones by hand and transplanted them in a wet spring and it's worked well.

I move them from early winter until spring whenever the ground isn't frozen

Any months with the letter R in it. As I was told a few years ago by a tree guy.
