thinking about buying a digital camera. but i know squat about them. all i know is, i want a view screen, and zoom capability. not looking to break the bank. looking for recomendations, things to avoid, and any other info
thanks
Nikon Coolpix is a great line of camera. Fairly reasonable for a plain Jane but you can get some bells and whistles for a few extra bucks. Go with a 3mp. Lots of choices out there.
I recommend the Olympus C-750 Ultra Zoom:
4.0 megapixel 10x optical 4x digital = 40x total zoom. Agreed digital zoom sucks. Look at the cam on the net or in a store and buy off the net - usually much cheaper.
$388 in stock new. not sure what zip you are in for shipping. Go to google and search for Toms Hardware Guide and search in digital cameras for it. Brings up all kinds of places with the camera and price. Can sort by price and pic a place with the best ratings.
a great place to price shop is at pricegrabber.com they will even figure in zipcode so to find you the best deal including shipping. There is quit a price range out there so check this seite before you buy amything off the net. It has saved me probably at least 1000 bucks so far.
hey teeroy, i have a rca digital video camera and it takes awesome pics! are you just wanting to take digital stills? right before i bought my camera i was thinking of getting a cam that just took stills and now i am glad i didn't! trust me it takes awesome pics but nothing beats video footage of that big buck. also it will take stills while your videoing. mine has 400X zoom and that is plenty enough! a person doesn't really need anymore then that! just my 2 cents! good luck on buying one. oh one last thing i got mine at wal-mart for i think $329 dollars. go check out my pics in the photo gallery! only down fall is it is a little bit light sensitivity!
