Are most of you guys disconnecting the shutter assembly or just leaving it on?

I can not find any information on how to disconnect them.

Thanks for the information.

Just disconnect the shutter motor plug only. it should pull out.

Sorry about that. The P32 and the P41.

TT,
I assume that will also take care of the dinging noise when it opens?

It looks like your photo did not upload??

Thanks again after I figure these cameras out I will owe you. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Step by step.

Power up the camera.
Remove the batteries without turning off the power first.
Open the camera up and remove the little white plug at the lower left side of the camera.

The plug has two wires, red and black.

Put everything back together again and the job is complete.

Easy enough. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Now how do you make it completely silent??

How are most of you making yours?

Leaving it alone or disconnecting the shutter??

I personally disconnect all of mine.

Some like to have it on so it makes a noise and makes the deer look at the camera.

10/4. Now when I disconnect the shutter it still makes the start up noise how do I disconnect that or are we stuck with it?

Risto,
One thing you may notice after doing the shutter hack is you might get an error message on various occassions saying "Turn cam off, then back on again". This is normal. Just follow what it says and you'll be back in business. Also...if you don't have the beep turned off, I'm guessing you may not have the rest of the cam set up for trail cam use, if so disregard what follows. Here's the steps for the P41, P32 uses the same lingo, not sure about the exact order:

-Move selector switch on back of cam to pic mode
-Turn cam on
-Use left arrow to get to camera, set to program
(use up/down arrows to make selections, right arrow to scroll through the various options)
-EV=OEV
-Focus=Infinity (sideways looking number 8)
-White Balance=Auto
-ISO=400 or auto, whichever preferred
-Pic quality=Fine for best quality, standard for more pics per card
-Rec Mode=Normal
-Flash Level= +
-P Effect=Off

Now move into Setup

Camera:
-AF Mode=Single
-Digital Zoom=Precision
-Date/Time=Day & Time
-Red Eye Reduction=Off
-AF Illuminator=Off
-Auto Review=Off

Memory Stick Tool...Stuff doesn't matter

Setup 1:
-LCD backlight=Normal
-Beep=Off
-Language=English

Setup 2:
-Set date and time here. Only date of month and time show up on pics, not the month itself.

One final tip, turn the LCD screen off manually each time you set the cam in the woods using the small button above the screen. Push it until the screen goes black and of course, make sure you're in pic mode. That way the backlight won't come on while in the field, wasting juice. You'll have to turn it back on when you go to check your pics if you want to see them on the LCD screen.

Well last night about 11:30 I decided to finish up and try to stop the beeping sound.
With a glass of absolute and cranberry and a few of my kids Teddy Grahams I was successful. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Darn thing doesn't beep now.
Thanks everyone for your patience and help. Something I did not know I now do because of your help.

Thanks again.
