As I was coming to work tonight I encountered 10 DNR trucks with lights on at the intersection of Highway 92 and Highway 5. They had 2 trucks of hunters pulled over and a line of traffic cones set up for over a mile. I've never seen anything like this before but was very impressed with the check point. Hopefully everyone that they pulled over was legal and everything was tagged.

They did this last year coming out of our town right before you got onto interstate 80. Great idea, I think they wrote several sitations also.

Problem is, they don't do it more often. Would like to see it done all over the state. Good job DNR.

I went through that check point last night. They were exceptionally decent to myself and gave my 10 year old a DNR hat. I didn't have a deer and they checked my guns and tags. I guess I have mixed feelings about being checked.

I am glad to see and hear that the DNR is at work. I think that just the mention of their presence can thwart would be offenders. I would personally like to see them around all them time. The CO's are understaffed as it is so we need to all do our part to help them. Remember, keep the sheriff and CO's phone number programmed in your cell. Getcha a TIP sticker and PROUDLY display it!!! when i was at school the other day they said that as of state federal and county there will be a 65 to 70 percent turn over rate cause all the baby boomers are up for retirement and state is gonna start hiring two dnr per county possibly more where there needed! i thought id pass that good news on two u guys
