Some would say it is the perfect time as the "first" doe to come into estrous should draw the most attention. Each day and deer is different but I don't think any harm is done using them now.
I've been watching a doe do the "squats" for three days. Today she was chased all over the woods by a 150 class 11 pt. She'll be bred within 2 days. Does are typically shy or at least cautious around estrous does or scent because it means pestering and chasing by bucks and they don't like it.
